Why Do I Need My EA Account Email and ID?
Beyond basic login, your EA email and ID matter for the Comfort Trade coin-transfer method, crossplay between platforms, adding friends, account recovery, and linking your account to web or companion apps.
Your account might be referred to by different names — Origin Account, FC Account, EA.com Account, FUT Account, or FC/FIFA Ultimate Team Account. They all refer to the same login.
Recovering Access via EA Support
If you've lost access to the email associated with your EA Account, the game stays permanently tied to that account and can't be transferred automatically — but EA Support can help if you can verify ownership.
Visit: help.ea.com/en/contact-us
- 1Don't log in, since you can't access the old email.
- 2Select your product, platform, and choose the topic "Account Access / Account Recovery."
- 3Click Contact Options → Chat or Email.
EA will likely request:
- The original email address linked to your EA Account
- Proof of purchase (order confirmation, PayPal or Steam transaction ID)
- Recent usernames or in-game tags you've used
- Platform account details (Steam ID, Epic ID, etc.)
- A new, accessible email address for account transfer
If you can provide sufficient proof of ownership, EA can move your account to the new email address.
If the Game Was Purchased via Steam or Epic Games
EA can verify ownership through your purchase history. A screenshot of your transaction record showing the game title and purchase date can speed up verification.
If Your Old Email Provider Still Exists
Try recovering the old email account first — often the quickest fix. Most providers (Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, etc.) support recovery via a registered phone number or security questions.
If Recovery Isn't Possible
Without access to the old email or proof of purchase, EA won't be able to restore the account due to privacy and security policies. In that case, you'll need to create a new EA Account and repurchase the game.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | What to Check |
|---|---|
| Can't find EA ID | Check EA Account/profile information on console, PC, or the Account Panel |
| Can't remember account email | Check the same EA Account settings screen where your ID appears |
| Multiple EA Accounts | Confirm which account is linked to the platform you're currently using |
| Account information doesn't match | Check your connected accounts/settings for the correct linked platform |
