What is Black Friday Thunderstruck?
Thunderstruck is EA's Black Friday campaign in Ultimate Team. The cards are dynamic: they get upgrades if the player's club does well in its next league matches. Around the main team, EA runs a week of short "flash" content.
This is how it worked in FC 26, according to EA's official article from 26 November 2025:
- 26 November: older Team of the Week cards (85+, up to TOTW 10) returned to packs.
- 27 November: strong cards from earlier FC 26 campaigns came back, and the first of four flash Live Events started. A new one followed every 48 hours.
- 28 November: the main Thunderstruck team plus ICONs, with more players the same day and on 30 November.
- Upgrades depended on the next five domestic league matches of the player's club (former club for ICONs):
- 2 wins or draws: +1 PlayStyle
- 3 wins or draws: Roles++ in all positions
- 10 goals scored: +1 PlayStyle+ (max. one) or a PlayStyle
- SBCs: Thunderstruck ICONs, 24-hour flash SBCs, flashback cards and themed showdowns.
- Evolutions: six flash Evolutions (4 days each, +2 OVR on one face stat), later PlayStyle+ and cosmetic Evolutions. A card that gets the Thunderstruck look through a cosmetic Evolution does not get live upgrades.
What we know about FC 27 so far
- Confirmed by EA: Black Friday: Thunderstruck is on the official FC 27 roadmap for Season 2, after Ultimate Scream, UEFA Road to the Knockouts and Hall of FUT: Unleashed. The Season 2 "FC Heritage" Circuit has a Thunderstruck stage on World Class difficulty.
- Not confirmed yet: the exact dates, the upgrade conditions and the players. We do not publish leaked teams, because leaks often change before release.
If EA keeps last year's structure, expect dynamic cards with league-based upgrades, a flash event every 48 hours and many SBCs over the weekend.
When does FC 27 get cheaper?
FC 27 came out on 25 September 2026. EA and the platform stores have not announced a Black Friday price for FC 27 yet.

How to prepare your Ultimate Team club
- Watch the transfer market timing. When a big campaign drops, many packs are opened and prices for normal gold cards usually fall for a few hours. If you want to list tradeable players, do it before Friday evening.
- Keep your SBC fodder. Black Friday brings many SBCs at once. Untradeable 83+ cards and duplicates are worth more in your club than as quick sells.
- Free up Evolution slots. Last year there were six flash Evolutions in four-day windows. You cannot do them all if your slots are full.
- Check the upgrade conditions first. A Thunderstruck card is only as good as its club's next five league games. Look at the fixtures before you spend SBC fodder on it.
- Play the flash events on time. With a new event every 48 hours, a missed day means missed rewards.
- Finish the Season 2 Circuit. The Thunderstruck stage of the FC Heritage Circuit runs on World Class. Do the earlier stages in time so you do not run out of days.
