FC 26 FUT Champions — still widely known as the Weekend League — remains the pinnacle of competitive Ultimate Team play. EA has overhauled the mode this season, streamlining qualification, adding a new Challengers tier, and refining gameplay for the sharpest Weekend League experience yet. Here's everything you need on qualification, format, timings, ranks, and rewards.
What's New in FC 26 Weekend League
This season introduces a major redesign to the format:
- No more Playoffs
- No more separate Finals
- A single, unified Champions mode
- More matches and more reward tiers
- A streamlined entry system
Players now compete in 15 high-stakes matches each weekend. Wins count toward rank and rewards; losses no longer contribute, so every match matters more than in past seasons.
How to Qualify for FC 26 Weekend League
Qualification is simpler this season. You need to meet two requirements:
- Reach Division 6 or higher in Rivals
- Earn 1,000 Champions Qualification Points
All qualifying points now come from Division Rivals only, starting at Division 6. A win at Division 6 earns 50 points, with higher divisions awarding more, and losses still contribute a small amount. Since extra qualification attempts have been removed, consistent weekly Rivals play is essential.
To enter once qualified: go to Ultimate Team → Competitions → Champions, then redeem your 1,000 Qualification Points. Your spot is locked in for the upcoming weekend.
Weekend League Format
- 15 matches total
- 4 points for a win, 1 for a loss
- Rank determined by total points
- Some quits or disconnects may still register as wins, with daily caps in place
- All matches run on the Competitive Gameplay preset
Fewer matches means less time commitment, but far less margin for error than in previous seasons.
Start & End Times
The Weekend League runs every weekend. FC 26's first Weekend League begins October 3, 2025, and the standard weekly schedule is:
- Starts: Friday, 20:00
- Ends: Monday, 08:59
Challengers: The New Tier Below Champs
Not everyone reaches Division 6, and that's what Challengers is for. It offers Divisions 10–7 their own Weekend League-style competition, complete with its own match count and reward ladder — a progression-friendly bridge toward full Champions qualification. It effectively replaces the old Playoff system.
FUT Champions Ranks & Rewards
The reward system now spans 15 tiers, so every player makes meaningful progress even after a rough weekend. Confirmed Rank 1 rewards for Season 1:
| # | Reward Type | Details |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | coins | 85,000 |
| 2 | Current Campaign Guarantees | 2 (Untradeable) |
| 3 | TOTW Player Packs | 3 × 83+ |
| 4 | Rare Gold Player Packs | 3 × 88+ |
| 5 | RGP Pack | 10 × 84+ |
| 6 | RGP Pack | 10 × 83+ |
| 7 | RGP Pack | 10 × 84+ (Untradeable) |
Rewards are intentionally less inflated than last season to slow early power creep, with season-to-season updates expected throughout the year.
Best Time to Play FUT Champs
When you play often matters as much as how well you play:
- Friday: Sweatiest lobbies — top players finish early
- Saturday: Mixed skill pool
- Sunday: Easiest overall, best for climbing ranks
- Final hours: Casual-heavy lobbies once top players have finished
Challengers may soften matchmaking further, but this general pattern still holds.
Tips & Tricks
- Take breaks every 2–3 games
- Disable opponent celebrations to stay focused
- Use a wired connection
- Avoid Friday pressure matches if you can wait
- Finish every match — rage quitting kills your rank
- Stay calm and stick to your game plan
The Competitive Gameplay preset rewards smart defending, manual actions, and clean passing, so mental discipline matters more than ever.
Market Strategy Around Weekend League
- Prices rise before Friday as players prep their squads
- Prices crash Monday morning as rewards drop
- This season's slower reward pace means cards may hold value longer, with smaller market dips
Buy Monday, sell Friday remains the most reliable cycle.
