Before you can receive coins, you need a small amount already in your account that our system can work with. Think of it like a spark; you need a few coins to light the fire before the transfer goes through. This initial amount of coins changes throughout the season and on different platforms but it usually varies from 2–3k at the start of the season to at least 6k in the end.
How Can I Earn Enough Coins for my Transfer?
- Play a few matches: Each match gives you around 800–900 coins.
- Sell unwanted players: Quick sell them for instant coins, or list them on the Transfer Market for more.
- Use rewards: Weekly Rivals, Squad Battles, or Objectives often drop tradable players or coin boosts.
- Hit the minimum: Usually 4–6k coins is enough to start a safe transfer.

Why Do You Need a Minimum Coin Amount?
In FC Ultimate Team, players can’t be listed at any price you want. EA sets price ranges for items, which means you need a minimum number of coins in your balance before you can buy certain players. That’s why a transfer won’t work if your account is at zero.
How to Earn Coins Quickly
1. Playing Matches
- Each game pays around 800–900 coins depending on performance and mode.
- Division Rivals, Squad Battles, and Weekend League give bigger coin rewards and packs.
- Even if you only play 10 matches, that’s roughly 8,000–9,000 coins which is enough to get started.
2. Selling Players
This is a fast and more effective way because you’ll often pack or get players you don’t want. Here’s how to turn them into coins:
Option A: Quick Sell
- Hover over the player in your club.
- Press Square (PS) / X (Xbox) → select Quick Sell.
- You’ll get instant coins, but usually less than the player’s real value.
Best for low-rated cards you don’t plan to use.
Option B: Transfer Market
- Select the player → choose List on Transfer Market.
- Check the going price: use “Compare Price” to see what others list the player for.
- Set your Starting Price (slightly above quick sell) and a Buy Now Price (BNP) that’s competitive.
- Tip: Example: If quick sell is 600, and others list at 900 but don’t sell, set yours at 800–850 for a faster sale.
Listings last for a set duration (e.g., 1 hour, 4 hours, 1 day). Pick one that matches busy playing times for better chances.
- Remember: EA takes 5% tax from sales, so set prices with that in mind.
Managing Your Transfer List
- You can list up to 100 players at once.
- Expired listings can be relisted instantly.
- If an item doesn’t sell, adjust the price slightly down until it does.
3. Rewards and Objectives
- Rivals and Squad Battles: Weekly coin and pack rewards scale with your performance.
- Squad Building Challenges (SBCs): Completing some can earn tradable packs.
- Daily/Season Objectives: Often drop coin boosts or packs.
Example: How to Reach the Threshold Fast
- Play 8–10 matches → ~8,000 coins.
- Quick sell a few spare bronze/silver players → +1,000–2,000 coins.
Total: 10k coins → more than enough to start your coin transfer.
Final Tips
- Always check if a player is tradable before trying to sell (untradable cards can’t be sold).
- Use quick sell for low-value cards, but always check the Transfer Market first; you might make more.
- Keep relisting expired cards until they sell.
Once you’ve got your starting coins, you’re ready to receive your coins, so head back to delivery section and start your transfer.
