Back up codes are designed with a purpose of a last resort kind of salvation so that if you lose your mobile phone phone, the authenticator app fails, and you can’t access your email address which could happen for lots of different reasons, then the backup codes are the only way to sign into your EA Account from a new device so its important that you keep the code safe.
